Dabblers, Divers, Dogs &
of course, the King of Ducks...

Checking out our Quackers, Whistlers, & Grunters? We may not be as known for duck kill'in outside of Michigan/Missouri and the State's surrounding it, per say... but I assure you, if you want a duck species dead, I can get you in the wheel house. Hire me to kill as many as the law and Mother Nature will allow, in Missouri, Michigan, and Texas or hire me to find you that rare species, either way, we'll get the job done. I have killed all of the species within the Mid Western Eastern Central and Mississippi flyways, along with several lost open ocean species that got in the way of my swinging lead somehow over a Midwestern lake, river, swamp or corn field....oops, I quit that lead stuff decades ago, I just miss it though, know what I mean? But seriously, the way steel is anymore, it's definitely easier to shoot consistently than the old lead days, its finally great stuff!  Anyway, you want a specific species, if we don't have them, I'll know where we can get'em. I personally guide for most all puddle variety, with of course the Greenhead being King.

Certainly one of my all time favorites in waterfowl hunting is field shooting mallards/pintails, etc. Yes I have grown, flooded and managed corn, millet, oaks, beans, etc., etc., for waterhole hunting, and it can be excellent. However, little compares to 5,000 mallards dropping out of the ozone at mach 8, locked hard 3 feet off the deck and can't pull back out like a brain washed kamikaze without the help of my Browning auto... cutting feathers 1,550 feet per second. When they spin you over and over maple leafing, twisting, turning, flipping and then decide to get serious and flat flex, with wing tips brushing, there is little on the face of the planet much funner. The largest flocks decoy to dry fields, bar none! And I sincerely appreciate sitting up, out of a dry ground blind, not in stinkin, damp, musty crowded waders; but in a nice dry wore in pair of lined carharts and comfortably touching off three powder blasts .......watching their bright red legs role behind their ears like your college sweet ...sometimes the Devil gets the best of ol'Dad, my bad........Trigger tappin, one mean green at a time, into extreme aerials, all to land 10 yards away from your boot strings. And when you pick them up, their just as pretty as the day you met, not covered in swamp juice....but dry, fluffy, iridescent, hues of the King or other distant relatives.

This my friends, I love, can you tell? Anyway, comfortable dry ground, fast and furious, often extremely large flock action-that's what I love. When it comes down to it, I'm going to the ducks, whether I'm running managed, planted, flooded ground or not, if they’re not there, they’re not there, right? The key to hunting anything is location, one very important key to good locations, is pressure, manage your pressure and let the ducks come to you, whether you’re putting the food there or the local plow boy is and you find them, the key to long term success through the season, directly behind location is pressure. This is true in all species, giant bucks, wary ol'ducks, I don't care what you’re hunting. You manage your pressure times 10 of anything else, you'll be in'em every time, rotate your fields, water hole's, ponds, river or lake blinds and you'll always kill more than the guy sitting on the same hole next to the refuge. Scout, rotate and this is guaranteed, year in and out.  Anyway, if you want to do one of these dry field hunts or water shoot with us for ducks, we have it all, from rice in Texas to wheat in Michigan, or beaver dams to flooded corn. You let us know, we'd love to get you out there!

God Bless & Good Hunting,

Scott
