About The Guide:

Snow Goose Hunting Guide Scott Robinson

I want to thank you for taking the time to read about our operation and my humble beginnings. So many people click the pictures, click the price and send an email, or make a phone call. You will find as many pictures and videos as you'll care to watch and we'll update often; but I think its very kind to take the time to read about us and I kindly thank you.

I was born in Central Southern Michigan, I have 3 beautiful children, 2 boys and 1 girl, who spend most of their time with my better half due to my demanding schedule. I started hunting snow geese in Arkansas, then Illinois and now Missouri and other states, originally back in 1991. I started hunting Canada geese in 1978, as well as deer and small game all around the same time. I had always been interested in hunting and had very first experienced pheasant and quail hunting several times, when I was a much smaller boy in the early 1970's. Dad took me on my first hunt with nothing in my hands at first; but as I got a bit older, a Daisy Red Ryder. The best part was that he even let me shoot at the birds as they flushed on grandpa's farm and actually let me believe I shot the birds. I remember it well, this farm was where I started life. That farm and land now gone; but will always lay in my mind as where I came from.  A modest single wide trailer in a rural community and as it turns out, so very lucky to grow up in; but eventually we moved into town. Although not on the farm anymore, it was still a very big part of my life and much of it still remains in our family today.

You never realize these things, how great things were, until much later in life. Then again, life now is much different than it was then, not only for me; but for my children and on down the line. It was a great time, in a great place, when hunting was much more respected and part of our everyday life. The older I grew, the more I begged and pleaded to go hunting and between begging my grandfather and father to hunt, I also got to fish with my great grandmother, sealing the fishing affliction I still have today. I grew up with woods, swamps, rivers and lakes just a stone's throw away, and that's where you'd find me, always at least a stone's throw away, in and around the places that give you poison ivy and mosquito bites. It was in me and never to leave. I've spent the better part of my life hunting, and fishing; and so many first successes came on that family farm. I've never been able to quit this love of the outdoors and its creatures, to the point some might say it teeters on sickness and admittedly....it seems a sickness that grabs you and never lets you go. I was first hired as a guide in High School, I was taking hunters pheasant, deer and small game hunting. I went to college, somehow graduated and started guiding professionally that following year. It was more from survival than brilliance obviously; but then again, I have been and seen so much more than so many, I have been blessed.

At that time, I couldn't afford the drug that drove me, so I decided to become the dealer of adrenaline. All I can say is that I must have been pretty good at it; because I am still here today, which living in Michigan, took some creativity. Michigan is not particularly known as the premier location to hunt anything; but needless to say, we have some excellent hunting in the right locations and at the right times and through the boom years of the auto industry I had more clients than I had time. Michigan of course has changed, although hunting remains strong, over the years to extend our season, we have extended our hunting efforts into other States and have been doing so for almost 2 of those decades at this point; but I still love Michigan and I still live within 25 miles of that home I grew up in.

Missouri Spring Snow Goose Hunting GuideMissouri Snow Goose Hunting Outfitter

Seemingly, we do a lot of different hunting and admittedly that is unusual to most. Most guides/outfitters have one focus. Don't let this concern you, I assure you, I too have one focus, and that's to kill what you are looking to kill; I just happen to be much, much brighter than those other outfitters, prove me wrong, I dare you, hahaha! Anyway, many are either a goose hunter or a duck hunter, a deer hunter or a waterfowl hunter. All I can say is that I love them all; yes, my favorite remains goose hunting; but must I choose between a diamond and emerald, or may I choose both, I choose both and always have. When it rains, I scout, call and kill ducks, when it’s clear and crisp, I scout, call and kill trophy bucks. At the right time of year, I move South or North in the spring, during rut, I move West, and so on. I have worked out what is a dream schedule of a man interested in what I am interested in and that's straight up well above average seriously high success volume killing.

I have searched and found the biggest and best trophy's in the mid west, as well as the area's that have the highest volume shooting opportunities, along with all the variety in fowl that the mid west can offer. I know the best time of year at all these locations; but like I said, what I love most is waterfowl hunting and more specifically, goose hunting. All hunting is like a puzzle, location plus weather plus attracting plus camo/hide plus knowing when to shoot plus luck equals your result, I love the challenge and geese are the most challenging, particularly the white goose and or the local goose, both brilliant. At risk of offending turkey hunters, their 10 times smarter than a turkey, call and we'll discuss, too much to get into here, but guaranteed you'll agree when I'm done with you, lol.

Goose hunting for each goose species is different, yet the same, scout, set up, call and shoot. If its sheer volume a North American Waterfowl Hunter is looking for, it’s got to be snow and Ross geese, unmatched, for taste, beauty and a wall trophy, it’s the speckle belly; for size, style, and grace, it’s the Canada. The great news, is that I have either gotten better at my profession, or its just plain gotten to be better hunting over the years, either way, the Good ol'Days are on, I assure you. Come share the woods, fields, and swamps with me, see why so many come to me to make their greatest memories and their children's children's memories with me and my friends.

Thank you again for taking the time reading through my blog, feel free to contact me with any questions on any of our hunts. Look at our schedule from Sept.-May and choose the hunt of a lifetime, this site is "snowgoosespecialist.com", simply because I have been called "The Expert", "The Goose Whisperer", "The King", "The Professor", and "The Outfitters Outfitter" of goose hunting, particularly snow goose hunting. It may be true; but the extremely high numbers is what has gotten this part of our service so much attention. And along the way making my head much larger than what it was when breaking into this world, its funny isn't it? Or I am? Either way, I'm laughing as I write this; but what can I say, it’s all true.

Anyway, we have developed sites over the years and they are a lot of work and this is our newest site, at 7 years old now, lol, and since we're tired of building new sites, we have just included our other information on this site to make it slightly easier for us. Plus it is snow goose hunting that we spend the most actual hunting time at, we chase them on and off over 2 months and it takes up all of our February and March; so it is here you will find our information. Rest assured, there are few or none you will find with as much success and experience, as our family run operation. I would bet you on that, as of today, we are well into the many tens of thousands of birds.....not to mention our mega deer of which we only took 10 hunters the last 2 years and 50% of them shot Boone and Crocket Bucks, simply unheard of anywhere deer run free. Am I proud of what we have, oh yes indeed. So let’s talk about what your next high volume hunt or trophy is going to be and we'll get to work on making your memory of a lifetime that won't soon be forgotten.

Kind Regards, Good Luck and Good Hunting,

Scott
